Honoring Our Culture Through Kwentuhan
The Cultural Pavilion at Vallejo Pista Sa Nayon is a vibrant, interactive space designed to celebrate the beauty, richness, and diversity of Filipino culture.
More than just a place to watch, it is a place to experience—where guests of all ages are invited to engage with traditions, stories, history, and art in meaningful ways. At its heart is a small stage that blends performance with participation, offering cultural showcases and hands-on activities that bring our heritage to life.
FANHS. This year, the pavilion is proud to feature educational exhibits presented by the Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS). Founded in 1982, FANHS is the nation's leading organization dedicated to preserving, documenting, and sharing Filipino American history and culture through archives, research, education, exhibits, publications, and community programs. FANHS has championed the national observance of Filipino American History Month and continues to serve as a vital resource for communities, schools, museums, scholars, and families seeking to understand the Filipino American experience. Visitors are encouraged to learn more about FANHS at https://www.fanhs-national.org/. For more information about the Vallejo Chapter of FANHS visit: https://www.facebook.com/groups/143779619304/.
FILIPINO VETERANS. The Cultural Pavilion will also honor the legacy of Filipino Veterans through a special exhibit recognizing the courage, sacrifice, and service of the thousands of Filipino soldiers who fought alongside American forces during World War II. Their contributions helped secure freedom in the Pacific and strengthened the longstanding bond between the United States and the Philippines. This exhibit serves as a tribute to their heroism and to the ongoing efforts to preserve their stories for future generations.
PHILIPPINE CONSULATE, PDOT & PTIC. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to engage with representatives and exhibits from the Philippine Consulate General, the Philippine Department of Tourism, and the Philippine Trade and Investment Center. These exhibits will showcase Philippine culture, tourism, trade, investment opportunities, and government services, providing guests with valuable insights into the dynamic relationship between the Philippines and Filipino communities abroad.
KABABAYAN KIDS. As the home of the main kids' area, the pavilion creates a welcoming environment for young learners to discover Filipino history and identity through play, creativity, and connection with program with our community partners Kababayan Kids.
Whether you are exploring historical exhibits, engaging with community and government organizations, stepping on stage, joining an activity, or simply taking it all in, the Cultural Pavilion is where our culture is not only seen—but experienced, celebrated, and lived.
